About the Role

This new senior position will be the key lead for MPACT’s Facilities Management division.  Working in a highly proactive and professional manner, the role exists to develop a portfolio of key clients to manage and maintain to the highest standards.  The postholder will be responsible for leading a dedicated team to ensure this area of the business grows significantly, sourcing new business for planned and preventative maintenance at any given opportunity. Key tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining the Facilities Management strategy, whilst generating revenue from new and existing clients as per agreed targets.
  • Further developing and maintaining excellent client relationships, ensuring that they receive the highest standards of service in relation to their operational needs and attending client meetings as applicable.
  • Managing P&L for FM department to ensure target margins are achieved, whilst producing management reports in accordance with the needs of the business.
  • Ensuring the fabric of client’s buildings (both externally and internally) is maintained and serviced to a high standard in accordance with the management contract and agreed budgets.
  • Regular monitoring of the key performance indicators and taking remedial action as applicable to ensure the required standards are maintained and constantly improved for the full range of buildings.

About You

We are looking for a qualified individual who has a wealth of relevant experience.  You should be commercially aware with strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record in providing a first-class client service.  Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective client relationships is essential, as is the ability to lead and develop a team.  The ideal candidate will have extensive technical knowledge of building services and a full understanding of all statutory and legislative requirements.  Membership of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) is also beneficial.  Overall, we are looking for a dynamic Head of Department who possesses the essential requirements for the role, is driven to deliver and wants to be part of a growing and ambitious company.

Job Title: Senior FM Manager

Reports To: Operations Director

Job Purpose: To lead all elements of MPACT’s Facilities Management in a highly proactive, professional and safe manner. The role works to develop a portfolio of key clients to manage and maintain to the highest standards.  The postholder will be responsible for leading the team to ensure this area of the business grows significantly, sourcing new business for planned and preventative maintenance at any given opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Head up the Facilities Management division whilst developing and maintaining a Facilities Management strategy.
  • Generate revenue from existing and new clients as per agreed targets in line with company strategy

  • Ensure full compliance with MPACT’s Facilities Management procedures.
  • Produce management reports in accordance with the needs of the business.
  • Regular monitoring of the key performance indicators and taking remedial action as applicable to ensure the required standards are maintained and constantly improved for the full range of buildings.
  • Preparation, control and monitoring of the service agreements in accordance with the client’s budgetary agreement.
  • Manage risk and deal with insurance issues on site where required.
  • Manage major work programmes on site, acting as the liaison point for all parties involved.
  • Be responsible for all the health and safety compliance onsite, including that of any third-party services providers and maintenance records. This includes ensuring MPACT is regularly updated and monitored in accordance with all the Health and Safety requirements.
  • Liaise with other departments, i.e. Operations and Accounts to ensure compilation of external contracts, checking all procurement needs are carried out in line with MPACT policy.
  • To compile and maintain all required management information/records relating to company, health and safety and other related records. This includes asset register, emergency plans and all related records and management reports.
  • To liaise with external bodies when required, i.e. local authorities.
  • To oversee third party contracts to ensure the correct standard of service is provided in accordance with the agreed contract.
  • Develop good working relationships with a wide range of people, liaising with operational and office staff on a daily basis.
  • Line management of direct reports.
  • Ensure compliance with MPACT’s policies, procedures and guidelines, together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Engage with the company’s appraisal process, and demonstrate commitment to our values, behaviours and your continuous personal development.
  • Perform other reasonable duties and/or projects as directed by your line manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

KNOWLEDGE (& QUALIFICATIONS) Essential Desirable
Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience).
Relevant qualification in the building industry – HNC/HND as a minimum
Health & Safety qualification
Management qualification
Member of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) or Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM)
Considerable knowledge and understanding of all statutory and legislative requirements
Extensive technical knowledge of Building Services
SKILLS
Working knowledge of computerised systems
Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Commercially aware with strong analytical and numerical skills.
Proven track record in providing first-class customer care and service delivery.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
EXPERIENCE
Broad generalist experience in a fast-paced dynamic office environment.
Experience managing Engineers, as well as directly liaising with industry suppliers to provide quick solutions where necessary.
Significant experience working in the construction industry.
Experience of “live” environments.
Experienced in managing and developing a team.
Experience in mobilisation and execution of new FM contracts
