M-PACT Group were appointed by Royal London Group to deliver the Alternative Working Environment envisaged by the client and their design team.
Site: Henderson Row offices, Edinburgh.
The works involved stripping out and full reinstatement with partitions and significant amounts of bespoke joinery. M-PACT Group, as Principal Contractors were fully responsible for managing a range of trades and sub-contractors.
Of particular importance to the client and their image was our ability to handle the design demands required to produce the AWE. Having worked together with Royal London and their design team on a number of occasions previously, we were able to demonstrate our capabilities.
Details
Given that we were working in a live environment, a number of factors had to be managed to an exceptionally high standard. These primarily centred on health & safety and the environmental impact of the works.
Not only did our approach to health & safety have to consider Royal London staff working in the building but we also had to manage the location (a relatively narrow street bordering a residential area). Consequently, the control of noise and loading and unloading within this sensitive environment was crucial.
Outcome
The aim of the client was to provide their staff with a revitalised, stimulating working environment. This included functional break-out areas which also provided some privacy, relaxation locations and an adjoining kitchen.
As you can see from the images below, the lighting design and soft furnishings come together exceptionally well. Throughout the project we were able to maintain high levels of communication which, as always, goes a long way towards handing over a successful project which fully meets the expectations of the client.
